CAA ADULT CHOIR

CAA's Official Ambassadors

Calgary Arts Academy Adult Choir began in 1990 by the gathering of community members who simply loved to sing. We have had our home at various schools, currently at Calgary Arts Academy.

September 1990 - Mountain View Elementary.  The Adult Choir began at Mountain View Elementary.  Our purpose was to engage the community, and provide sutdents with the opportunity to perform with their parents and members of the community.

August 1994 - Belfast Fine Arts/Technology Learning Centre

October 1999 - Willow Park School

August 2003 to Present - Calgary Arts Academy.

The Adult Choir's purpose is to engage community, and provide students with the opportunity to perform with their parents, members of the community, and senior citizens.  We are the official community ambassador for Calgary Arts Academy and performed at the opening celebration for Calgary Arts Academy at the Arts Space Gallery.

Performance highlights include performing at the Vertigo Theatre several times, the annual Winter Celebration at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium, the Palliser Hotel, Calgary Stroke Foundation, Heritage Park, The Telus Convention Centre, school functions, senior citizen lodges and community venues.

In 2007, the Adult Choir performed in China at the Norman Bethune Celebration, on the Great Wall of China, at Summer Palace and at the Tianjiao International Education Conference.

Calgary Arts Academy Adult Choir loves to perform all types of music and members enthusiastically provide input for the Director.

We are the official ambassadors for Calgary Arts Academy, and speak of the school when we perform at seniors’ residences, and community and arts functions. Our members are also volunteers at the school, assisting with reading programs and school functions.
