  • Something not commonly known about me I've been known to cry watching football movies. I make great crabapple jelly, and I worked at 911 answering emergency calls for 3 years.

Juleta holds her AMRC Speech Arts and Drama diploma, an Honours degree in Drama from the University of Alberta and her Bachelor of Education from the University of Calgary. She taught drama for the University of Alberta, both on satellite campuses in communities like Maskwacis and Slave Lake, and in Edmonton. Since 2001, Juleta has taught classes and private lessons in public speaking and debate, drama, and the performance of poetry at the Mount Royal University Conservatory in Calgary. Juleta has been an adjudicator of speech and drama festivals all across Alberta and BC. She is also a published poet. Her 2013 poetry collection, Incarnate, was short-listed for the national Gerald Lampert Memorial Prize as well as the City of Calgary W. O. Mitchell Book Prize. Her biggest sources of pride are her two teenage children.
