She is a Calgary based Dance Artist specializing in West African dance and dance education for both children and adults.  She completed her Bachelor of Arts in dance with distinction at the University of Calgary in 2006, and has since focused her research and training in West African dance.

Travel has facilitated much of experiential learning and will continue to guide her explorations of the intersections between dance and culture.

Amanda’s interest in this field has taken her to Toronto, Victoria, California, Chicago, Sweden and West Africa on several occasions. She has worked as an arts administrator with W&M Dance Projects and choreographed for companies such as Alberta Dance Theatre.  She has worked as an artist in residence for the past five years, teaching children in various schools throughout the city.
