Ms. Turner was born and raised in Calgary and received her BA in Visual Arts and her BEd in Art Education from the University of Lethbridge. Prior to joining CAA, she taught in London, England as a Year 4 teacher. Ms. Turner believes her passion for creative exploration and self-discovery will support and nurture CAA’s Kindergarteners, allowing them to become happy, independent learners. In her spare time, she enjoys trying new cuisines and seeing as much of the world as possible – she’s been to over 20 countries and is still counting!
Allison Hunter loves being a part of the Calgary Arts Academy team! She is extremely lucky, because through teaching students, she get to live her passion. She loves to inspire learning and see the results. Born right here in Calgary and growing up in Airdrie has kept her close to the Calgary art scene. Allison has earned two degrees from the University of Calgary, a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Dance and and Bachelor of Education specializing in Early Childhood Education. When she is not being a teacher she enjoys reading, watching Disney movies, coloring, spending time with her family and teaching dance. Moving and grooving is her specialty and she loves inspiring young learners with a passion for the arts. She cannot wait to see what every year has in store for her and her students and looks forward to an amazing year with her CAA team!
Jessica Maye is excited to be apart of the Calgary Arts Academy K/1 team.
She is extremely passionate and committed to teaching through Arts Immersion. Jessica earned her Bachelor of Education at Mount Royal University with a focus in Physical Education. Throughout her life Jessica played various sports including hockey and lacrosse. She has always been passionate about health and wellness and continues to explore new forms of activity. Growing up, Jessica has always been interested in the arts and has dabbled in all art forms. Her favourite art form is knitting and she will spend hours working on a project in her free time. Jessica’s most memorable experience was when she did hair and stage make up for Calgary Operetta’s Garden of Eden at the University of Calgary. She looks forward to making more meaningful connections with Calgary Arts Academy community this upcoming year.
Chelsie Malinowski attended Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education, with a focus in Communication Arts and Literature. She then enjoyed teaching Grade 1 in Montana for four years. During that time, she also coached middle school girls’ basketball and taught summer school.
She loves being a part of the CAA community and teaching its wonderful children!
