The Honourable Alison Redford Announces Support for CAA and the Youth Campus

February 10, 2014

Today, The Honourable Premier Alison Redford and Honourable Ric McIver, Minister of Infrastructure, announced their support of Calgary Arts Academy and the Calgary Stampede partnership on the Youth Campus.

The announcement pledged support of Calgary Arts Academy opening a campus in the old Weston Bakery building currently located on the Calgary Stampede grounds.

We are thrilled that the Government of Alberta has recognized CAA by supporting our vision to provide progressive, inclusive Arts Immersion education.

Todd Hirsch, chair of Calgary Arts Academy Society Board said: “In past years, the bakery nourished the body, in future years CAA will nourish the mind in the same building.”

“We are investing in Alberta’s intellectual infrastructure,” said Honourable Ric McIver, Minister of Alberta Infrastructure.

Calgary Arts Academy will work with Alberta Infrastructure to determine our future. There has been discussion regarding the possibility of returning one of our present facilities to the Calgary Board of Education. We will continue to discuss future growth.

We look forward to sharing more information with our community in the coming weeks.
