Year 2 / 3 students created land art mandalas with resident artist, Mr. Carl White, to express how rocks and minerals are used in our communities.
Using natural materials, the students worked in groups to create a piece of land art that would be viewed by the community.
Over the course of two weeks, the students designed and created beautiful mandalas that are displayed on the front lawn of the
Glenmeadows Elementary School campus.
Students were asked to consider not only the challenge of how rocks and minerals are used, but also to
consider that the audience for the work had moved beyond the confines of the school and would not involve the community at
