  • Favourite quote Because of the routines we follow, we often forget that life is an ongoing adventure ... Life is pure adventure, and the sooner we realize that, the quicker we will be able to treat life as art: to bring all our energies to each encounter, to remain flexible enough to notice and admit when what we expected to happen did not happen. We need to remember that we are created creative and can invent new scenarios as frequently as they are needed. - Maya Angelou
  • Hobbies Yoga, cross-country skiing, jewelry making, ukelele.
  • Something not commonly known about me I was born in Calgary, but moved frequently as a child, attending school in Singapore, England and the U.S. While growing up overseas, my family traveled much of Asia, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

Jennie Calvez started working at Calgary Arts Academy in 2012. Before joining the CAA team, Jennie obtained a degree from the University of Calgary in Canadian Studies focussing on Communications. She worked as an editor and journalist at The Calgary Sun and Calgary Herald. Jennie fell in love with Calgary Arts Academy after she saw what a difference it made in her own children’s lives! She was first involved in the school as a volunteer and then as a substitute in the office at Glenmeadows. Now she is thrilled to be a part of the Early Reading Intervention program at Knob Hill!
