Charlotte Nixon is an actor, director, designer, filmmaker and playwright from Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada.  Charlotte has a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Education (Honours) from the University of Lethbridge. She has been teaching middle school drama for over ten years. Charlotte has also worked with Alberta Ballet, Encore: The Junior High Drama Festival,  Alberta Teacher’s Fine Arts Council, and Stratford Festival’s Teacher Conference.
It is her love of teenage drama that inspires her to write plays for today’s modern middle schooler. Charlotte has several published pieces, including her newest pirate play Silver’s Secret that was recently published by Pioneer Drama.
She is thrilled to be joining the Year 6/7 team at Calgary Arts Academy and using the Art Immersion educational philosophy to empower children. In addition to teaching students, Charlotte also works with educators from across Western Canada as an artist, teacher consultant, curriculum guide.
