Mr. Lewis started at Calgary Arts Academy in 2012, initially doing his student-teacher practicum, then as a full-time teacher.

Originally from Winnipeg, in 2001 he graduated from Dalhousie University in Halifax with majors in Marine Biology and Biochemistry.  For four years, he taught microbiology at the university and researched grey seals on Sable Island, Nova Scotia.

In 2005, he created the charity Push for the Cure. As an inaugural event, he long-boarded with three friends from coast to coast, raising nearly $1 million for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
